Lumiere
Light is inherently relational, becoming visible through what it touches. Across moving water it shimmers, never quite able to be caught in one place. Through a diamond a single beam fractures and multiplies into flashes. White light passing through a prism separates into a spectrum of color, revealing what was there all along but could not yet be seen. Even shadows give shape to what light touches by creating definition through its absence.
What we see belongs not only to the light or to what it illuminates, but to the meeting of the two.
