Tilted Diamond Ribbon Bracelet

There was a kind of freedom in the things we made as children for no reason at all. I remember making ribbon chains - strips of colored paper cut and looped together one by one, hundreds of rainbow links multiplying and growing across the floor until somehow the afternoon had disappeared. Nothing needed to come of it...the purpose was simply the experience of creating.

Somewhere in growing up we begin to expect our time to amount to something. Maybe there is something worth holding onto in the hours that don’t. In playing, imagining, and getting lost in something for no reason beyond the pleasure of making it. There was no real point, and somehow that was the point.
